Description

Tri-Y Merge Collectors: Design Your Own!

We are now offering completely customized Y-Pipe collector sets & assemblies to your exacting specification. With over 15,000 possible options, there is a design ready to fit your needs. These systems are hand-built in the USA from USA made materials, and are crafted using 16ga tubing.

Tri-Y merge collectors offer a wide range of benefits; from improved low end torque, to noticeable throttle response changes, and a flatter torque curve throughout the RPM range, these collectors can show improvements over conventional merge collectors, and especially over formed-type collectors. Tri-Y headers are often used in racing applications with frequent on/off throttle actions, such as road racing and circle track environments.

To order, simply input your desired dimensions using the drop down menus above, and we will hand-craft custom tri-y set-ups to meet your needs. If these will be fully welded together (as shown in the sample picture) you can select that option as well, and the system will arrive to you completely welded and ready to install.

Material Type: Mild steel is an economical choice, but will require a coating of some kind when you complete the system, as the steel will rust. 304 Stainless is the standard in performance exhaust systems. it's excellent corrosion resistance, coupled with improved strength and appearances lend it to being the recommended material of choice in most custom exhaust systems.
Primary Size
: This is the size of your header tube going into the first set of 2-1 collectors
Secondary Size: This is the outlet size of the first pair of collector, and will match the inlet size of the 3rd collector. This MUST be equal to or greater in size than Primary Size
Secondary Length: 6" is the standard straight length off the first set of collectors. It can be as short as 2" in length if desired, and as long as 24" (max length for shipping purposes)
Final Collector Merge Size: This is the 'choke' size or merge size of the final collector. This can match the overall exit size, or it can be smaller to further add scavenging effect to the exhaust system.
Final Collector Outlet Size: This is the overall outlet size of the tri-y system, and will typically match your exhaust or turn-down sizing. It MUST be the same size or larger than your final collector merge size.
Final Collector Outlet Length: As with the secondary length, standard outlets are 6" long, leaving you room to continue to your exhaust system or tailpipe design. These can be as short as 2" or as long as 24".

Additional Options

Collector Tabs: These are our standard A & B style collector mounting tabs. We recommend one pair of tabs per collector if you are not welding these onto your header tubes. You may also choose to get these with 2 pair of tabs per collector, for extra security.
Welded Collector Assembly: For this option, we will fit & align all 3 collectors together, and weld them solid into one complete assembly. This ensures a straight & square alignment upon delivery.
Material Finish: These collectors come in a brushed finish as standard, but we also offer a mirror polish finish and ceramic coating. For ceramic coating, we recommend having the system completely welded first, otherwise it will require you to grind off a small section of coating to finish the welding on your own.
